1. Description
The lithium battery safety monitoring module is a product used for early warning of lithium battery thermal runaway fire and emergency alarm during the fire. During operation and charging, lithium batteries are prone to battery heating, short circuit, leakage, wire overload, damage and fire of electrical components. Therefore, real-time monitoring and alarm of lithium battery fires are important means to ensure personal and property safety.
Lithium-ion battery fire prevention and control products have 485/CAN bus output or switch signal output functions. Through the built-in fire detection sensor, the gas, smoke, particulate matter, ambient temperature and other signals in the protection area are monitored in real time and reported to the display terminal or instrument, so as to promptly notify the operation and maintenance personnel of the fire detection situation of the battery during storage and use.
Lithium-ion battery fire prevention and control products can analyze and monitor the gas composition of the air in the protection area, so as to provide early warning of fire signals in the protection area in advance. By monitoring toxic and flammable gases, smoke and particulate matter, early warning of thermal runaway of lithium batteries can be carried out; by monitoring the ambient temperature signal, emergency alarm can be issued during the development of fire; and by using the gas, smoke and temperature composite fire detection device, the fire location can be informed in a timely and accurate manner. In this way, real-time monitoring and alarm of lithium battery fires can be carried out in an all-round manner through multiple means.

3. System Solution
This system monitors the early fire hazards in the lithium battery box in real time and sends alarm information to the outside world in time. It triggers fire extinguishing automatically/manually to suppress the fire in the battery box, integrating hidden danger reporting, fire identification and emergency fire extinguishing.
The product is small in size and flexible in installation; the working voltage supports DC12~30V, and the power supply mode can be adopted nearby to reduce the restrictions on the installation location.
The product is external, and internal detection is achieved by opening a hole in the battery panel, and external installation is convenient for maintenance and replacement.
Solution 1: Single detection device solution
The detection device is installed on the lithium battery box and has gas and temperature detection and alarm functions. It is connected to the BMS system through the CAN bus and uploads detection data regularly. The detector can also be used directly as a controller to control the start and stop of the fire extinguishing equipment. It supports up to 24V3A active output to ensure the valve opening function.
Solution 2: Detection device + controller (can be used with our controller) solution
Depends on the number of detectors on the system and the distance between them: the controller can receive the repeater data through the bus to further obtain the detection device signal, or the controller can directly obtain the detector device signal through the bus. When the detection device has an alarm, the controller can send out an audible and visual alarm signal. The controller is connected to the fire extinguishing control device, and can manually and electrically (in advance) start the fire extinguishing device, and can directly control the release of the fire extinguishing agent in an emergency.
4. Dimension
The battery safety monitoring module is usually installed on the battery box and has gas and temperature detection alarm functions. It can monitor the changes of electrolyte gas, combustion characteristic gas, temperature and other parameters in the lithium battery box in real time. It uses multi-sensor data fusion algorithm to determine whether there is a fire hazard or a fire has occurred, and issue graded alarm information.
